This week I thought it might be fun to share some of my paintings from the winter thus far. Within my own artistic studies I think being an artist means being well rounded in multiple mediums. I believe if I can compose a harmonious painting or drawing, I can do the same with photography. These two paintings come from similar places, being that the gold represents a sort of metaphorical portal. These ‘Portals’ represent the free will, we as humans have to choose to live a meaningful life. The ability to choose how we see the world and our actions in response to such thoughts. Enjoy.
Now that wedding season and holidays are over I’m finally get that must needed me time! The time to finally be able to just have fun and play around again! Photography and art is a constant experiment or trial for me. A constant asking of “why?” or “what else?" Until I discover answers to my questions and then ask questions on my answers, a never ending cycle that I adore!
I usually start the holidays off angry at the materialism and unthankful nuts running around looking for deals. Eventually I begin to get just a little excited, especially when hearing that first Bootsy Collins Christmas song. Then the craziness of family parties and the talking about myself starts to get to me. High of Christmas cheer wears off and all I’m doing is counting down the days until January 2nd so I can finally have some time off. This year felt about the same. Happy New Year. So happy the Holidays are finally coming to a wonderful end.
When I think back on 2018, I have no regrets. Only memories and lessons. This was a year of true independence and proving to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to.
Meet my cat, Monty.
This whole week has been full of smiles and laughs as friends and family have come by to share stories over delicious meals. Looking back on the array of images I took this week, each one makes me so thankful for the supportive and positive people that surround me. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, enjoy all the happy little moments.
First real snowfall of the year, so of course my roommate and I rush outside to snap a couple photos to celebrate!
